The Planning process is much more than just setting timelines and adhering to the due dates. Planning should be a quintessential practice for projects, events and even day-to-day implementation of details related to the same. Having a detailed, structured plan is what the Design and Planning Process encompasses. It is a series of steps that one follows during the formulation of a product from start-to-finish as elaborated below.
The entire design process is all about making home designs more functional by managing the space available. Even though it may look easy from the outside, interior designing is a long and a complex process. However, every complex procedure can be simplified by taking the right decision, proper steps and systematically working towards a goal.A good design should inspire you to love the way you live or work in your spaces and also aims for an authentic reflection of ones lifestyle without pretension. The designer knows his or her responsibility as you entrust them with the dream of your spaces.
Smaller projects may not necessitate every step in the design process to the same extent as larger, more complex projects, but even the simplest of them benefit from a systematic progression through a series of steps in a logical sequence to help solve a design problem.
Most of you might be having a fair idea of how your space interior should look like. However, when we try to implement those ideas into reality, a lot of times we fail to achieve the desired outcome. As we pay more attention to the details, the more difficult it becomes to understand and implement. In situations like this it is the client who struggles to visualize the outcome. CONSULTATION
To get into the shoes of the client, it is imperative that one gets to know them.The design begins knowing our client, their homes, their offices, preferences, ideas, and desires.The goal of the first meeting is to exchange information, walk through the home / office / commerical spaces with the client and understand their lifestyles and preferences. Together we address the problem areas, solutions and their vision for the new space.
STRATEGIC PLANNING AND PROPOSAL
After the initial consultation, a proposal to the client will follow, this is a simple documented agreement between our firm and the client which states what it will take to make it all happen, what needs to be done and how much would it cost. Once agreed and signed by both parties, the design work begins as well as hiring the right people for the right job.
DESIGN CONCEPT & DEVELOPMENT
This phase involves the work of the designer researching, drawing, space planning, generating ideas, envisioning what the project will look like, and how each individual space will be transformed to become something new while maintaining consistency throughout the design process also keeping in mind your budget and goals as they are also the key features in deciding which design to go with. We are also mindful of various key deciding factors such as overall space utilization, number of inhabitants, furnishing, fixtures, HVAC and lighting areas blending in well with the overall style. In a nutshell, we aspire to give you a design which is per your taste.
PRESENTATION
Today’s technology allows us to make one to one virtual presentation no matter where you are with the help of all the different programs or a physical meeting with the client as per their convenience. The Architect Interior Designer will present to you, the existing, and the new layout, the inspiration and new design concept for each of the areas to be designed. The presentation incorporates look-a-like references of the furniture, lighting, accessories, materials, colors, wall panellings , rugs, etc. and much more to provide our clients with a vision and a real feeling about the way the space will turn out to be.
BUDGET ANALYSIS
Good design begins with a good design concept. Based on the presentation discussion and selection of materials we will be presenting you with a budget which will give you an overall picture of the design as well as the cost to build the house of your dreams. The design presentation and the budget analysis will pave the road to your dream home.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT PHASE
Everything that we select, right from finishes to flooring, tile, wooden pieces are in sync with the design theme you approved. And these are illustrated via new proposed floor plans, detailed drawings, wall elevations and other visual aids. Apart from this, room layouts, fabrics, wall coverings, color selection, textiles and lighting is also taken care of. Following are the features of the Design Development Phase
- The approved schematic design finalized in this phase is further developed
- Sections, floor plans and elevations are accentuated with accurate dimensions
- Additional details of colors, material, location of doors and windows, finishes, furnishing etc. is also included in the design
- The final design is converted into 3D and sent to client for approval In a nutshell, the design development phase plans out everything for your space.
CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION PHASE
Once the design and the budget is in place we will hire a skilled working team with a good contractor having an overall understanding of the project with the perfect finishes and a timeline for the completion of the works. We, as Architects, would prefer our team as there is an understanding of works between the Architect and the Contractor which will be beneficial and helpful to the Client in completion of the works in a very professional and easy way and in the given time schedule.
PROCESS, EXECUTION & INSTALLATION:
Working on a design project is one thing, but giving clear instructions on-site is definitely another. Interior construction documentation sets will be given to them to execute the design flawlessly. A thorough explanation is being given from the start to the end of the project in terms of execution, services, installation and completion of the project into a ready to move in space.
